How to Find a MAC Address

Connecting your gaming or streaming device to your InternetNow service is simple. You’ll need to enter your device MAC address into your InternetNow account settings. Finding your MAC address is unique to each device (Xbox, PlayStation, Roku, etc.). Please search for “how to find MAC address on (device)”. Your device manufacturer or technical blogs will provide you with the latest steps for finding this information.

How to Manage Random MAC or Private Address

iOS 14

Apple’s recent iOS 14 update includes a Private Address feature that changes the MAC address of your device for each network it connects to. When connecting to InternetNow with a WiFi Connection Type, users should disable this feature to avoid filling multiple device slots on their account. Since InternetNow uses your device’s MAC address to authenticate to our network, our customers will need to turn this feature off.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the “Settings” app and connect to our “InternetNow5G” network
  2. Tap the “I” info icon next to the network
  3. Toggle “Private Address” to off
  4. Return to Wi-Fi Setting and turn Wi-Fi off and back on again
  5. Verify MAC address shown under “InternetNow5G” SSID matches the MAC address in account.

Apple Watch

  1. Open the “Settings” app and connect to our “InternetNow5G” network
  2. Select Wi-Fi
  3. Select our “InternetNow5G” network

  5. Verify MAC address shown under “InternetNow5G” SSID matches the MAC address in account.

Windows 10

Some versions of Windows 10 have a feature that randomizes the MAC address for different Wi-Fi connections. When connecting to InternetNow, disable this feature to avoid filling multiple device slots on your account. If you do not see the option for “use random MAC address” it is likely that your version of Windows 10 does not have this feature.

  1. Select the “Start” button in the bottom left corner of the screen
  2. Select the gear icon to go to “Settings”
  3. Select “Network and Internet”
  4. Select “Wi-Fi”
  5. Set “Use random hardware addresses” to “Off”

Android 10

Phones running the Android 10 operating system (Android Q) include a feature that randomizes the MAC address for different Wi-Fi connections. This feature is enabled by default, but can be disabled for specific Wi-Fi networks. When connecting to InternetNow, users should disable this feature to avoid filling multiple device slots on their account.

How to Add a Device

Now that you are signed up for InternetNow and registered a profile in AccountView, adding additional devices to your InternetNow service is simple and may be done in one of two ways: (1) in AccountView (2) via our Splash page.

Add a Device Through AccountView

  1. Log into AccountView
  2. Select “Account Detail” on your InternetNow account
  3. Click on the “Settings” tab
  4. Add in the wireless or wired MAC address of your device
  5. Add a description or name of the device to differentiate from others

Add a Device Through the Splash Page

  1. Open a web browser from the device you would like to add. Our splash page will populate after connecting to our network. If the page doesn't load immediately, navigate to a non-https site such as www.gointernetnow.com
  2. Once the splash page populates, select “log into your AccountView” under the section “I'd Like To Add A Device To My Account.”
  3. When you log into your AccountView with the desired device, it will automatically add it to your InternetNow service.
  4. Simply name your device and add!

Please note, the max number of devices allowed per account depends on your package.

Do I need equipment (i.e. router)?

It depends.

If you live in a Wall Jack building, we recommend connecting a router to the Ethernet port in the wall jack that has our logo on it. The router will give you WiFi capability. If you don’t have a router, you can connect your laptop or computer directly into the Ethernet port using a Ethernet cord.

If you live in an InternetNow WiFi-enabled building, then you do not need any additional equipment. Our WiFi buildings provide connectivity to compatible devices via the building’s WiFi connection.
