Information Updates

We continue to closely monitor the World Health Organization (WHO), Center for Disease Control (CDC) and appropriate State Health Departments for updates and recommendations on Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19.

At Alaska Communications, keeping you connected and giving you peace of mind is our priority. We have business continuity plans in place to ensure we continue to deliver service and meet your needs. We are well-positioned to effectively respond, and recover, should any disruptive event occur.

We will not terminate service to any residential or small business customers because of their inability to pay their bills due to the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Please email us at customercare@acsalaska.com or call 800-808-8083 to set up a payment arrangement.

For bill payment options, please visit https://www.alaskacommunications.com/BillPay or log into your customer portal at https://accountview.alaskacommunications.com

We're adapting the way we work to prevent the spread of COVID-19. To protect your home or business, and our teams, we’ve changed our installation process. Here are the steps we're taking to keep you connected: https://www.alaskacommunications.com/Support/Unlimited-Internet-Installation

We have closed public access to our corporate headquarters at 600 Telephone Avenue in Anchorage. Outside vendors and visitors will not be allowed in the building. For service and account assistance, please contact our service teams during regular business hours toll free at 800-808-8083.

Alaska Communications supports the recommendations of social distancing to help stop the spread of Coronavirus. Our Business Technology Center (BTC) will be closed through April 30 and we will post further updates here. Please visit our BTC page for room reservations and information.

As we work together to stop the spread of COVID-19, I want to thank you and let you know what we’re doing to keep our communities connected. Together, we have all risen to the challenge. We are keeping our hospitals, students, teachers, government agencies and all Alaskans connected. Here are some of the things we are doing today:

  • We are working with Rural Health Care program participants to increase bandwidth, as needed, at no charge.
  • We are offering all K-12 and university students and teachers, who do not have internet, free Unlimited Internet through the end of the school year.
  • We will continue to offer unlimited internet, with no data caps, to all customers as always.
  • We will not terminate service to any residential or small business customers because of their inability to pay their bills due to the disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
  • We will waive any late fees that any residential or small business customers incur because of their economic circumstances related to the coronavirus pandemic.
  • We will waive long distance overage fees as appropriate, related to the coronavirus pandemic.
  • We have extended technical support hours and will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday - Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Our network is reliable, redundant and built to handle increased demands in bandwidth. We are well prepared to support telecommuting, distance education and increased streaming. In fact, the latest two releases of the Call of Duty® video game put more demand on our network than recent events and our network continued to operate flawlessly.

We have proven business continuity plans in place to keep our networks up and running to support our communities as we all work together to manage the spread of COVID-19. We have equipped many employees to work remotely. And, for those whose jobs don’t allow, we are practicing social distancing and CDC hygiene guidelines in all interactions.

Thank you to everyone who is working to stop the spread of COVID-19. Together, we are stronger.

Bill Bishop
President and CEO
