From its roots as a local telephone company, to becoming Alaska’s smartest wireless provider, Alaska Communications is committed to the local communities where its team members live and work. The company recognizes that investment in our youth and their futures is a critical component of building communities that are positive, healthy places to live. That’s why youth development – including initiatives that provide youth with opportunities for education and leadership, positive environments to learn and grow, and access to technology – is a core focus of Alaska Communications’ commitment to responsible corporate citizenship.
Some of the company’s larger programs include work with United Way, Junior Achievement, the University of Alaska and it’s Summer of Heroes program in partnership with Boys and Girls Clubs – Alaska. Alaska Communications also believes in supporting its employees who support our communities. Each year Alaska Communications employees volunteer thousands of hours to Alaska non-profits. The company is proud to support its employees through the Employee Volunteer Grant Program where Alaska Communications will contribute up to $250 to any eligible non-profit at which its employees volunteer 20 or more hours per calendar year.
